Oversee community based prevocational services.The RC1 will provide adequate development and oversight of the prevocational opportunities and DOL requirements for minimum wage earners.ĭuties include but may not be limited to: Internship experience does not count if it was credited toward the qualifying degree.ĭuties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Rehabilitation Counselor 1 (RC1) will be based at the Ulster Day program and will oversee the work program. ***Qualifying Experience: To qualify for the examination you must have professional experience providing vocational, psychosocial, or rehabilitative/habilitative services in an agency primarily serving individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or addictions. ** Human service field includes disciplines related to the following: addiction studies child and family studies communication disorders community health education gerontology health administration human services nursing nutrition occupational therapy physical therapy psychology recreation therapy, including art, dance, drama, and music rehabilitation counseling social work and sociology.
Provisional Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field** and two years of post-bachelor qualifying experience*** ORĪ master’s degree in a human services field** and one year of post bachelor’s qualifying experience***Ī master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling. Transfer Qualifications: Candidate must be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1.
Permanent Qualifications: Candidates must currently be a permanent Rehabilitation Counselor 1 OR be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list. Minimum Qualifications Permanent/Provisional
